What do the EICR codes actually mean?
C1 means danger is present and immediate action is required. C2 means it is potentially dangerous and needs urgent repair. FI means further investigation is needed. Any of these three will result in a failed report. C3 means improvement is recommended, but the installation is still deemed safe.
How long does an EICR take?
Testing usually takes between 2 to 4 hours depending on the size of the property and the number of circuits on the consumer unit.
